We will take an overview look at the WHY and some of the HOW recreation is so successful in Lebanon.

| A Look Inside the Fire Station & How Firefighting Works
Thursday, March 14, 2019; 6pm – 9pm; Fire Station #1, 12 South Park Street, Lebanon - This hands-on interactive session will provide an overview of the different types, most common causes of, and the methods the Lebanon Fire Department utilizes to extinguish fire. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice putting out a fire with a handheld fire extinguisher.

Thursday, March 28, 2019; 6pm – 7pm; Water Treatment Plant, 65 Pumping Station Road, Lebanon - The Water Treatment Plant was originally built in 1897 and has the capacity to treat approximately 3.6 million gallons of water per day.
What Does Public Works Do?
Thursday, March 28, 2019; 7:15pm – 8pm; Highway Department, 193 Dartmouth College Highway, Lebanon - There are approximately 100 miles of road in Lebanon which must be maintained to ensure the safe daily travel of the residents and visitors.
- Enter the world (and the garage) of the City’s Department of Public Works. Here you will learn what it takes to keep city streets clean and usable, and see, touch, and experience the equipment involved in that process.

Learn how an unlined landfill gets reclaimed and what the land can be used for in the future. Get a peek at what’s being done to deal with the necessary sulfur smell that is a result of a lined landfill.
What Happens When I Flush?
Thursday, April 4, 2019; 6:45pm – 8pm; Wastewater Treatment Facility, 28 Market Street, West Lebanon - The Wastewater Treatment Plant contains approximately 36 miles of sewer with an average daily flow of 3.18 million gallons. Learn what happens after the "flush".
