2020 Approved City Budget

The City of Lebanon is the commercial, social service and medical hub for the Lebanon NH-VT Micropolitan Statistical Area, an economically integrated region of 25 contiguous towns that spans four counties in two states. 

With a resident population of about 13,500, the City’s day-time population has been variously estimated at 30,000 to 35,000. That role comes with a cost as demand for core and other services is high. 

Development pressures continue, and with that, budgetary implications exist for infrastructure maintenance and public safety. Municipalities face persistent inflationary pressures affecting everything from the cost of labor and materials to contractual services, capital equipment, and vehicles.
