On March 14th, Lebanon voters will vote on three proposed amendments to the City’s Zoning Ordinance. Because the amendments impact the regulations for the City’s residential districts, voter approval is required. The City Council, Planning Board, and Conservation Commission have all approved and endorsed the proposed amendments, which consist of the following:
- AMENDMENT #1 – Minor textual revisions needed to implement changes to the Planned Unit Development (PUD) regulations which were adopted by the City Council in January.
- AMENDMENT #2 – Regulations allowing the Zoning Board of Adjustment to permit home based contractors on large lots in the rural zoning districts, on a case by case basis.
- AMENDMENT #3 – Allowing the Planning Board to permit renewable energy facilities on residential lots, on a case by case basis.
The Planning Department has prepared a set of Questions & Answers for each of the three zoning amendments to help explain what they are and what they do.
