During the morning of March 9, 2017, Lebanon Police took a report of a stolen GMC Yukon from a parking lot on Mechanic Street in Lebanon.
Officers began an investigation and with the assistance of a witness were able to identify the location of the SUV and a potential suspect. The Yukon was located on an access trail to the Connecticut River of off Route 12A in Lebanon. The SUV had gotten stuck in the mud and was abandoned. A tow truck had to assist in removing the vehicle.
Tevon Carter, age 21, was identified as a potential suspect. Carter was located in Lebanon and interviewed. During the interview, Carter confessed to stealing the SUV, getting it stuck and abandoning it on the access trail.
Carter was subsequently arrested and charged with a Class B Felony level Theft by Unauthorized Taking. He was held on $5,000 cash bail and transported to the Grafton County House of Corrections where he will await arraignment.
