On March 3, 2020, at approximately 1:18 AM, Officer Scelza performed a routine motor vehicle stop for a defective brake light. The male operator and female passenger initially gave Officer Scelza and K9 Officer Alden false names. After an investigation, the true identities of the male and female were discovered, and they were identified as Colin Dowling, age 32, of Canterbury, NH and Colleen Mitchell, age 24 of Grantham, NH.
Dowling had an active capias warrant out of Belknap County and Mitchell had an active capias warrant out of Grafton County for their arrest for possession and sales of drugs. They were taken into custody without incident.
Officer Scelza and K9 Officer Alden saw drug paraphernalia in plain view inside of the vehicle and K9 Nitro was deployed for an exterior sniff of the vehicle. K9 Nitro alerted to the presence of drugs during the sniff of the vehicle and the vehicle was seized pending a search warrant.
The search of the vehicle yielded $2,611.00 in cash, suspected Methamphetamine, LSD, Cocaine, Ecstasy, prescription medication, drug paraphernalia, and indicators of drug sales.
Dowling and Mitchell were processed on their capias warrants and held at the Grafton County House of Corrections pending arraignment in the Grafton County Superior Court.
Dowling was also issued a summons to appear in the Lebanon District Court for Disobeying a Police Officer, a Class B Misdemeanor, and Operating on a Suspended License, a Violation. He was also issued a citation for defective equipment.
Additional charges will be forthcoming.
