[ARCHIVED] Lebanon Police Modify Operations in Response to COVID-19

The Lebanon Police Department is modifying operations in response to the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, and its impact on the region and the State of New Hampshire. We are taking the following precautions out of an abundance of caution to ensure we are taking all reasonable steps to reduce potential exposure to COVID-19 for members of the Lebanon Police Department.

The Lebanon Police Department remains fully operational, staffed and ready to respond to the needs of the community. Lebanon officers will continue to respond to all emergencies, in-progress calls and other priority responses.

However, effectively immediately, the Lebanon Police Department is suspending some low priority services. These suspended services include: employment related fingerprinting, station tours, ride-a-longs, VIN verifications and public engagement programs (e.g.  Coffee with a Cop). The Lebanon Police Department also encourages community members to contact the police department by phone to ask questions or to file non-emergency reports, rather than coming to the police station. Communications personnel will triage the request and determine whether a police officer should respond in person or handle the situation telephonically. Individuals coming into the lobby of the police station will find that officers and staff will communicate through window separation or through an intercom system.

The public should also be prepared for Lebanon Police Officers to practice social distancing and for the use of personal protective equipment as necessary. During these unprecedented times, members of the Lebanon Police Department remain committed to providing critical emergency and public safety services to our community. The above measures are implemented with that goal in mind and ensuring the protection of lives and safety for all Lebanon residents and community members.

The Lebanon Police Department can be reached by calling 603-448-1212 and 911 for emergencies.
