On July 6, 2020, Officer Scelza received a report of credit cards that were stolen from a motor vehicle on Pleasant Street in Lebanon. The victim reported his vehicle was unlawfully entered during the overnight hours and several credit cards were stolen from his vehicle. The victim was able to provide a list of local businesses where the credit card was used and Officer Scelza reviewed the surveillance footage from a transaction at one of the businesses. Officer Scelza was able to identify the individual captured on video from prior law enforcement interactions.
The investigation led officers to an apartment complex in West Lebanon where the male suspect, Jordan Smith, age 21, of Laconia, NH, was located on a back porch of one of the apartments. Smith had a felony level arrest warrant for theft, and he was also charged with Receiving Stolen Property, a Class B Felony, and Identity Fraud, a Class A Felony.
Lebanon officers also located another male, Aaron Akers, age 22, of Windsor, VT, who had a warrant and electronic bench warrant for his arrest. A third male, Jesse Poirier, age 19, of Enfield, NH, was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Violation.
Akers was released on personal recognizance bail with Lebanon District Court date of September 28, 2020. Poirier was given a summons with a Lebanon District Court date of September 28, 2020.
Smith was held in preventative detention and was brought to the Grafton County House of Corrections, pending a Grafton County Superior Court arraignment on July 7, 2020.
Lebanon officers suspect there may be additional victims. Anyone who found that their vehicle had been entered during the overnight hours of July 5th into July 6th is encouraged to contact the police department.
