On July 9, 2020, Officer Hewes conducted a motor vehicle stop on a white Volkswagen Jetta after observing it traveling on I89 South. The vehicle was being driven by Marshall Dimick, age 29, of Grantham, NH. During the stop, Officer Hewes noticed indicators of drug activity, which was subsequently confirmed by the officer’s K9 partner Kymba, and the vehicle was seized pending a search warrant. Prior to a tow truck arriving, Dimick attempted to lunge inside of the vehicle to grab something, and officers had to physically pull him from the car.
Dimick was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Driving after Revocation, a Violation. Dimick was processed and released on Personal Recognizance bail.
The vehicle was towed to the Lebanon Police Department where a search warrant was executed later that afternoon. The search of the vehicle revealed approximately 550 bags of Heroin, a loaded Taurus .380 semi-automatic pistol, and several thousand dollars in U.S. Currency along with drug paraphernalia.
The incident remains under investigation and additional charges are expected.
