The Lebanon Police Department Cyber Crimes Unit has been conducting proactive investigations through a social media provider targeting individuals who are looking to victimize children.
Lebanon Police Officers engaged in a conversation via social media with a male subject who was later identified as: Andrew Snide, age 40, of Windsor, VT.
This investigation led to Snide arriving at a location to meet a person that he thought was a juvenile for sexual acts on September 17, 2020.
Snide was taken into custody by Lebanon Officers and charged with Certain Uses of Computer Services Prohibited, Attempted Felonious Sexual Assault and Attempted Endangering Welfare of a Child, All Class B Felony charges. Snide was held in preventative detention pending arraignment on Friday, September 18, 2020 at the Grafton County Superior Court.
The Lebanon Police Department Cyber Crimes Unit will continue to prosecute those who use the internet to sexually exploit children. The Lebanon Police Department is an affiliate of the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (ICAC).
