NHDOT I89/Exit 18 Project Feedback

NH Route 120 Study: Tell us what you think

Have you ever been stuck in rush hour traffic either trying to get to I-89 or going north toward Hanover, such as to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center or Dartmouth College? Or have you tried to get your kids to school on a nice day, on foot or bike, but not felt comfortable with challenging intersections? You’re not alone and now is the time to voice what ideas have come to mind as you sat waiting for the next light, or balancing your bike for traffic to clear before dodging over a tricky crossing.

An approximately 1.1-mile section of Route 120, off of I-89 Exit 18 in Lebanon, is the focus of the NH Department of Transportation (NHDOT) Lebanon 29612 I-89 Exit 18/NH Route 120 project. The area located between Hanover Street and Etna Road, and including the I-89 Exit 18 interchange and adjacent local road network, has experienced traffic congestion, increased development activity, and safety challenges for pedestrians and bicyclists.

We encourage you to use the following tools as an opportunity to voice your ideas and concerns about this project. NHDOT is listening and comments will be shared with the City and local organizations.

To flag locations for improvement and provide written comment, please use the following tools:

You can also email NHDOT directly, to Donald Lyford, Donald.Lyford@dot.nh.gov. More information about the project scope and goals, stakeholders, and meetings is available on the project website.

Note: You may have seen or participated in a survey from the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission about NH Route 120 last spring, which was a broader survey about transportation needs along the entire NH Route 120 corridor. This is a more targeted study from NHDOT that addresses the one-mile section of Route 120 and the adjacent area, as described above.
