On January 30, 2021, the Lebanon Police Department received a call regarding an adult male who had cut his throat with a knife in a suicide attempt at a residence on Wolf Road. The male was still in possession of a large knife when officers arrived and refused commands to disarm so he could be treated medically. During the initial response, it was determined that there was an adult female, along with several juvenile children present in the residence. A short time later, Lebanon Police Department officers were able to evacuate the adult female and children.
Lebanon Police Department officers, who are members of the Crisis Intervention Team, were able to negotiate with the male who eventually complied and surrendered the knife. Officers rendered first aid to the injured male until the Lebanon Fire Department arrived.
The male was subsequently transported to DHMC for evaluation. There are no criminal charges pending as the result of this incident.
