On February 3, 2021, Senior Officer Jeremy Perkins received the Meritorious Police Service Award. The award recognizes Officer Perkins for responding to an emergency call of a suicidal male who had cut his throat with a knife and was in need of medical attention. Officer Perkins was the first to arrive on scene and immediately began speaking with the male and was able to build a rapport and de-escalate the situation until the male agreed to comply and surrender the weapon.
Lebanon Police Officers are trained in Crisis Intervention, which played an important role in ensuring a successful outcome during this incident.
