On February 23, 2021, at 9:05 AM, Lebanon Police Department responded to a domestic in progress. This investigation revealed that the suspect became upset with the victim because she would not give him a ride home. The suspect was witnessed trying to pull the victim out of her vehicle by her hair and also breaking a window of her vehicle with a flashlight. This resulted in the arrest of Joshua Champney, age 30, from Grafton, NH. Officers took Champney into custody and discovered a knife in his possession.
Champney was charged with Domestic Violence Simple Assault and Criminal Mischief, both Class A Misdemeanor offenses. Champney was also charged with Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, a Class B Felony. Champney was released on Personal Recognizance bail and to be determined court date in the Grafton County Superior Court.
