[ARCHIVED] Lebanon Community Power Public Hearing August 18th

Lebanon Community Power Logo

Lebanon Community Power (LCP) is being designed to bring greener, less expensive electric power options to Lebanon customers of Liberty Utilities default energy service. The program is anticipated to begin in 2022 if Lebanon City Council approves the Electric Aggregation Plan proposed by the Lebanon Energy Advisory Committee (LEAC).

Learn more about this exciting opportunity at a public hearing on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 6:00pm.  Come in person to the new City Council Chambers located in Lebanon City Hall or attend online by going to LebanonNH.gov/LIVE.  A presentation will provide an overview of the Lebanon Community Power Plan with plenty of time for questions and comments.

Why are Lebanon and other communities around the State such as Hanover, Nashua, Exeter, and Harrisville working to establish Community Power programs?

Two big reasons: First, Community Power will help us reach our goal of relying less on fossil fuel-generated electricity and relying more on local renewable energy.  Second, Lebanon Community Power is being designed to save money and bring new efficiencies, value-added services, and rate options to local electricity consumers.

In addition, Lebanon Community Power will not cost Lebanon taxpayers anything. Except for incidental start-up expenses, all operating costs for services provided through the Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire (CPCNH) will be bundled into the power bills customers pay.

To learn more about this exciting new program, please visit our Lebanon Community Power page at LebanonNH.gov/LCP where you will find complete details about this program, including the draft Energy Aggregation Plan, answers to frequently asked questions, and more. We also encourage residents to attend the public hearing on July 15, 2021, to learn more about other exciting possibilities that Community Power can bring to Lebanon, such as supporting the development of local and regional renewable power generation and grid modernization. We hope you will come to share your comments and ask your questions.
