The City’s Master Plan was adopted in March 2012 as “a comprehensive plan to implement the community vision for 2030.” We are now just over halfway through the 18-year planning horizon on which the Master Plan is based. While implementation efforts continue across various chapters and are led by various boards, committees, and City departments, it is time to review and update the Plan to track efforts and resources and to document progress and achievements over the last 10 years.
The Planning & Development Department is initiating a process to review and update the overall Master Plan on a chapter-by-chapter basis over the next 3-4 years. This year, the Department will be working with the Conservation Commission to review the Natural Resources chapter (Chapter 5) and with the Lebanon Energy Advisory Committee (LEAC) to review the Energy chapter (Chapter 13) over the next several months with a goal of having the updated chapters adopted by the Planning Board before the end of 2022. Other Master Plan chapters will be reviewed a few at a time over the next few years.
If you have an interest in or concerns about the City's direction relative to Natural Resources and/or Energy issues, please feel free to attend an upcoming Conservation Commission or LEAC meeting. City Boards and Committee agendas can be found at LebanonNH.gov/Agendas. Meetings are open for public attendance at City Hall, or via remote access. To attend remotely, please visit LebanonNH.gov/LIVE for access information.
