[ARCHIVED] Appointment of Deputy City Manager - Public Works

City Manager Shaun Mulholland announces the appointment of Nicholas “Nik” Coates to the position of Deputy City Manager-Public Works for the City of Lebanon, effective June 27, 2022.  

Presently, Nik serves as the Town Administrator for the Town of Bristol, New Hampshire, where he has worked since 2016, managing eight departments and overseeing 60+ employees. Prior to his employment with Bristol, Nik served as Executive Director for the New Hampshire Association of Conservation Commissions; as Active Living Coordinator for the Foundation for Healthy Communities; and as a Principal Planner for the Central New Hampshire Regional Planning Commission with a focus on Transportation.

Nik possesses a Master of Arts from Northeastern University and serves on a number of boards and committees in the State to include the State of NH Housing and Community Development Planning Council, the Grafton Regional Development Corp. Board of Directors, and as Chair of the Grafton County Broadband Committee.

While he will be involved in a number of issues, Nik’s main responsibility will be the oversight of the Department of Public Works which is composed of four divisions: Municipal Services, Solid Waste Disposal, Water Treatment, and Wastewater Treatment.  The operating budget is just over $17 million with 50+ employees.
