On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, the Lebanon Police Department Cyber Crimes Unit began an investigation into a subject who reportedly possessed child sexual abuse images. This investigation led to a search warrant at a residence in Lebanon on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
During the search of the residence, members of the Cyber Crimes Unit discovered an electronic device, which contained child sexual abuse images. An occupant of the residence, who was identified as Michael Collins, age 67, of Lebanon, NH, was placed under arrest.
Collins was charged with six counts of Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Images, all Class A Felonies. Collins was held in preventative detention pending arraignment in the Grafton County Superior Court. The investigation into Collins is still ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
The Lebanon Police Department Cyber Crimes Unit will continue to prosecute those who use the internet to sexually exploit children. The Lebanon Police Department is an affiliate of the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (ICAC).
