On Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 5:47 PM, the Lebanon Fire Department responded to a report of a tractor fire in a small barn on Poverty Lane. Upon arrival personnel found heavy fire in a corner of the 2nd floor of the barn approximately 20 feet from the main residence. Personnel initiated a rapid exterior attacked on the fire with a 2-1/2 inch "Blitz-Fire" device and were able to knock the main body of fire down quickly and preventing the fire from extending into the main house. This area of the community is not served by the municipal water system and required the use of additional mutual aid tankers to ensure an adequate water supply. Additional water was used from a 10,000-gallon cistern at the entrance to Martin Brook Condominium Complex. Lebanon units were assisted by the Hanover, Plainfield, Meriden, NH & Hartford, VT Fire Departments. Enfield Fire Units provided coverage to the city.
