On September 10, 2017 at approximately 8:20pm, Lebanon Police received a call from a resident at Beechwood Lane who reported a male subject had tried entering their apartment. Officers responded and learned the male subject, identified as Jeffrey Giaimo, age 39, of West Lebanon had left the area driving a blue Volkswagen Jetta.
During this time, Lebanon Dispatch received reports of a vehicle that had crashed in the backyard of a residence on Farman Avenue. The operator of the vehicle attempted to push the vehicle back on the road before fleeing the scene. Officer Jeremy Perkins was called to the scene of the crash with his partner K9 Max. A track was conducted that led officers to the area of Valley Gardens Apartments where Giaimo was located hiding under a blanket in a wooded tree line. During this encounter, he failed to comply with commands and was apprehended by K9 Max. Officers were able to take him into custody and he was provided medical treatment for his injuries.
Jeffrey Giaimo was charged with Driving While Intoxicated- 2nd offense and Conduct after an Accident, both Class A misdemeanors. He refused bail and was held at the Grafton County House of Corrections.
On September 11, 2017, Giaimo was arraigned at the Lebanon District Division, New Hampshire Second Circuit Court and entered not guilty pleas to the charges. He was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail.
