On September 26, 2017 at 8:10pm, Lebanon Police and Fire were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle crash which occurred on Meriden Road near the intersection of Churchill Way. It was determined one vehicle had left the roadway, rolled over into a brook and caught fire. All three occupants of the vehicle were able to escape with minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Paul J. Gaynor, age 18, of Lebanon, NH.
As a result of the investigation, Lebanon Police determined Gaynor was intoxicated at the time of the crash and had been driving at excessive speeds just prior to leaving the roadway. Gaynor was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, a Class B Misdemeanor, and Reckless Driving, a violation level offense.
Lebanon Police were assisted by the Lebanon Fire Department, Plainfield Police, Hanover Fire Department and the New Hampshire State Police.
