On October 4th, the Lebanon Planning Department presented the City Council with the set of proposed Zoning Map and text amendments for initial consideration. The proposed amendments, which have been under review by the Planning Board, Planning Department, and the Steering Committee for the Implementation of the Master Plan (SCIMP) for much of the past year, are the result of the Department’s ongoing efforts to implement the City’s 2012 Master Plan.
Following the presentation, the City Council agreed to move the proposed amendments forward for further review pursuant to the Zoning Ordinance Amendment process (Section 1000) and to set a tentative schedule for review of the proposed amendments by the City’s Land Use Boards as follows:
- The amendments are forwarded to the City’s Land Use Boards for review:
- Conservation Commission –November 9, 2017.
- Zoning Board – November 20, 2017.
- Planning Board - November 27, 2017.
- Council will then hold a work session to review the amendments as modified, if applicable, based on legal input and Land Use Board feedback – January 3, 2018.
Finally, the Council will hold a public hearing followed by a vote on whether to adopt the amendments and/or to place them on the March 2018 ballot for referendum vote - January 17, 2018.
As part of moving the proposed Zoning Map and text amendments forward for continued review, the City Council also asked that every property owner whose property may be impacted by the proposed map amendments be notified, by certified mail, of the review process and schedule.
It has been determined that your property may be impacted by the proposed zoning map amendments.
