We need YOU! The Planning & Development Department is preparing draft sign regulations for the City of Lebanon and is seeking additional input on the desirability of allowing digital signs.
In 2017, the City Council created a task force to review and update the City’s sign regulations, contained in Section 608 of the Zoning Ordinance.
The Sign Task Force, comprised of residents, business owners, elected officials, and members of City boards and committees, met several times in the spring and fall. The product of the Task Force’s work – an updated and revised Section 608 – will be presented to the City Council for consideration later this spring.
The draft regulations will be subject to a rigorous public review process which will include a kick-off meeting with the City Council, review and comment by the City’s attorney as well as by the Planning Board, Conservation Commission, and the Zoning Board of Adjustment, before going back to the City Council for a public hearing. The public will be invited and is strongly encouraged to participate in this public review process.
Prior to introducing the draft amendments to the Council for their initial consideration, however, the Planning Department is seeking broader preliminary input from residents, business owners, and property owners with respect to one of particular aspect of the sign regulations: whether, where, and how to permit digital signs.

Feel free to contact the Planning and Zoning Department at 603-448-1457 or planning@lebcity.com if you have additional questions or concerns.
