Please help the Lebanon Conservation Commission gather information about amphibian migration “hot spots" in town!
On Sunday, April 14, 2019, led by project team member, Suzanne Church, Lebanon volunteers gathered on Heater and Labombard roads for a "Big Night" event where they tallied dozens of Wood Frogs, Spring Peepers, a Green Frog. and an American Toad — and sadly, many more frog mortalities.
These types of hotspot mapping efforts help boost local awareness of these incredible spring migrations and aid in planning future volunteer efforts to help amphibians cross our roads safely.
There will likely be several more migrations throughout the spring on rainy nights. If you have to drive during these times, please drive slowly and be on the lookout for amphibians, particularly near wetlands. If you encounter a local amphibian crossing site, please report this information by email to mark.goodwin@lebanonnh.gov.
