Bike, Walk, Bus...
Skate, Skip, or Sprint...
or all of the above!
Just don't miss it!

UPPER VALLEY CURB THE CAR DAY & E-BIKE WORKSHOP

Lebanon will once again host an "energizer station" with snacks from Co-op Food Stores and other partners, helpful alternative transportation mode and route information, some other goodies, and good company. You'll get to hang with members of Lebanon's Recreation Department, Pedestrian and Bicyclist Advisory Committee, and - if you're lucky - you may even high-five students from SAU88's walking school bus crew.

The station will run on Friday, May 17th from 7:00am-10:00am and will be located at Colburn Park just across from City Hall at 51 North Park Street. The occasion is not just a good excuse to enjoy the spring weather and leave the car at home for a day but a great way to celebrate any steps you already take or would like to begin taking to reduce how often you drive to work, school, errands, and so on.

Mark your calendars now and join us to:

  • Reduce traffic congestion in the City
  • Meet more neighbors
  • Get your bike pumped and checked by Cowbell Mobile Bike Shop
  • Enjoy some recreation/exercise for the day
  • Save money (these modes including the bus are free!)
  • Benefit from cleaner air
  • Have immediate impact--more of your footprints means a lower community carbon footprint too
  • Learn about the latest and greatest electric assist bikes.

Are your ears perked now? Want a fresh spin on your commute? Omer & Bob's and local e-bike aficionado, Karl Kemnitzer, will be on location Friday morning to give you bike shop/user perspectives for electric assist bikes.

But wait, there's more! Are you a DIY person or looking for "makerspace" ideas? Do you have an extra bike kicking around? Keep your Friday afternoon schedule free on May 17th for Karl's special workshop between 3:00-5:30pm at Kilton Library in downtown West Lebanon. He will demonstrate an ELECTRIC BICYCLE CONVERSION from start to finish.

Register for a workshop online through Vital Communities. For more information about the event or workshop visit Vital Communities Curb the Car Day page.
