What requires an excavation permit?

An excavation permit is required whenever any work is to be performed in the City's Right of Way. 

The following information is needed to fill out an application: 

  • name and address;
  • tax map and lot number;
  • contractor name, address, and phone number;
  • description of the work to be performed and the amount of disturbance in the City's Right of Way;
  • proof of liability insurance $300,000 to $500,000 bodily and $25,000 property;
  • a bond which will be calculated by the City's Engineering Office.
